RE: General Membership Meeting Summary Report for December 20th, 2023
The following notes represent my personal summary of the December General Membership Meeting and ARE NOT OFFICIAL MINUTES. They are for the express purpose of keeping the members informed in a timely fashion. Since minutes must be approved at a subsequent General Membership Meeting, any updates which would require the use of the actual minutes would result in updates being one-month old.
The following was approved at the December meeting:
- Minutes of the November 15th, 2023 meeting
- The financial statement ending November 2023 and the disbursements of $223,735.82. Our receipts were in excess of our disbursements by $3,136.89. This resulted in our General Account being positive by $73,548.99.

The following motions were approved:
· 1) Motion – Approve a donation of $300.00 to renew our membership with Sault Ste. Marie Museum.
2) Motion - Approve a donation of $1000.00 to the Alzheimer Society
President's Report
- Mike talked about the staffing levels that were identified in 2001 as the requisite number of employees at the tonnage of the
day.
- Mike spoke on contracting out Steelmaking cranes not releasing successful applicants.
- He had a discussion regarding the 106" mill.
Mike spoke on carpenters losing their scaffolding and form work. He encourage the members in this area to come in and put
in a grievance.
- Mike introduced Nathan Morley and Adam Dukes from the Soo Transit - Mechanics. He mentioned that these are members
of Local 2251 but identified as Local 2251-04.
The next General Membership Meeting will be held on January 17th 2024, at the Delta Hotel at 7:30 pm.
