RE: General Membership Meeting Summary Report for February 15, 2023
The following notes represent my personal summary of the February General Membership Meeting and ARE NOT OFFICIAL MINUTES. They are for the express purpose of keeping the members informed in a timely fashion. Since minutes must be approved at a subsequent General Membership Meeting, any updates which would require the use of the actual minutes would result in updates being one-month old.
The following was approved at the February meeting:
- Minutes of the January 18th, 2023 meeting
- The financial statement ending January 31, 2023 and the disbursements of $204,215.21. Our receipts were in excess of our disbursements by $204,215.21. This resulted in our General Account being positive by $132,108.64
- Motion – Approve $1130.00 to sponsor the Thrive 2023 Annual Fundraiser to be held August 15th, 2023 at the Machine Shop.
- Motion – Approve a donation of $500.00 to sponsor the Bon Soo Snowflake Trail.
- Motion – Approve a donation of $446.35 for the Sault College Student Handbook for 2023/2024.
- Motion – Approve a donation of $559.35 for the Algoma University Student Handbook for 2023/2024.

President's Report
- Mike spoke on the relationship between Management and Local 2251 regarding Health and Safety for an hour explaining how issues have come to light and how they are being dealt with.
- He also spoke on the three Co-Chairs for Health and Safety and their roles
- Mike spoke on staffing issues that have been happening in different departments in the plant.
The next General Membership Meeting will be held on March 15th, 2023, at the Delta Hotel at 7:30 pm.
