RE: General Membership Meeting Summary Report for October 16th, 2024
The following notes represent my personal summary of the October General Membership Meeting and ARE NOT OFFICIAL MINUTES. They are for the express purpose of keeping the members informed in a timely fashion. Since minutes must be approved at a subsequent General Membership Meeting, any updates which would require the use of the actual minutes would result in updates being one-month old.
The following was approved at the October meeting:
- Minutes of the September 18th, 2024 meeting
- The financial statement ending September 2024 and the disbursements of $108,757.84. Our receipts were in excess of our disbursements by $3,578.28. This resulted in our General Account being positive by $233,359.87.

The following motions were approved:
· 1) Motion – Approved a donation of $2199.00 to provide assistance for USW Local 4045, who have been on strike for 10 weeks
2) Motion - Approved a donation of $2049.59 to replace the William Merrifield Victoria Cross Citation
President Report
- Mark Molinaro gave the report this month as Mike was at the Huron-Superior Board meeting to present the cheque for the
breakfast program.
- Mark gave an update on the Group Health lawsuit. Mark stated that the GHC does not want Mike to represent everyone. They
want everyone to file their own lawsuit. If we win this injunction and representative order, we will have to make a decision
whether to continue going forward with the lawsuit.
The next General Membership Meeting will be held on November 20th, 2024 at the Delta Hotel at 7:30 pm. This will be our last meeting at the Delta Hotel as we are moving back to the Royal Canadian Legion.
