RE: General Membership Meeting Summary Report for November 15th, 2023
The following notes represent my personal summary of the November General Membership Meeting and ARE NOT OFFICIAL MINUTES. They are for the express purpose of keeping the members informed in a timely fashion. Since minutes must be approved at a subsequent General Membership Meeting, any updates which would require the use of the actual minutes would result in updates being one-month old.
The following was approved at the November meeting:
- Minutes of the October 18th, 2023 meeting
- The financial statement ending October 2023 and the disbursements of $248,458.22. Our disbursements were in excess of our receipts by $85,482.30. This resulted in our General Account being positive by $156,326.62.

The following motions were approved:
· 1) Motion – Approve a donation of $200.00 to survivors of deceased members and $300.00 for a family of members who have
passed in the past year.
2) Motion - Approve a donation of $1500.00 to the Sault Ste Marie Soup Kitchen
3) Motion - Approve a donation of $1500.00 to support St. Vincent's Place
4) Motion - Approve a donation of $1500.00 to support ARCH Hospice
5) Motion - Approve a donation 0f $1500.00 to support Pauline's Place
6) Motion - Approve a donation of $1500.00 to support the Salvation Army
7) Motion - Approve a donation of $1500.00 to support Women In Crisis
8) Motion - Approve up to $1500.00 to hold a social after the December General Membership Meeting
9) Motion - Approve a donation of $750.00 to support Making a Difference
President's Report
- - - Mike thanked Kevin Legacy for presenting the wreath on behalf of Local 2251 at the Remembrance Day ceremonies at the GFL.
Mike gave an update on the Plate Mill Modernization.
Mike reported that on December 20th, 2023 we will be at the Delta Hotel to hand out hats and calendars from 2:00 pm until the start of the General Membership Meeting. We will also be having a meet and greet with any members that would like to stop in and discuss anything with the members of the Executive.
Social will take place after the General Membership Meeting on December 20th, 2023.
The next General Membership Meeting will be held on December 20th 2023, at the Delta Hotel at 7:30 pm.
