RE: General Membership Meeting Summary Report for February 18, 2026
The following notes represent my personal summary of the February General Membership Meeting and ARE NOT OFFICIAL MINUTES. They are for the express purpose of keeping the members informed in a timely fashion. Since minutes must be approved at a subsequent General Membership Meeting, any updates which would require the use of the actual minutes would result in updates being one-month old.
The following was approved at the February meeting:
- Minutes of the January 21st, 2026 meeting
- The financial statement ending January 2026 and the disbursements of $203,095.57. Our disbursements were in excess of our receipts by $63,347.75. This resulted in our General Account being positive by $116,702.01.

The following motions were approved:
1) Motion – Approved a donation of $500.00 to the Strong Minds Run for Change
2) Motion - Approved a motion of $220.00 to the 65th Anniversary Northland Chorus Show.
President's Report
- The Board of Stewards and General Membership were combined because Service Ontario and other agencies made a presentation to the members for assistance with the upcoming layoffs.
- Mike spoke on the Maintenance of Earnings that the Executive were working with the Company on.
- He spoke on updating the medical forms and stated that they were progressing.
- Mike also spoke on the calculated Reduced Earnings Continuance and how they were working with the Company to ensure the calculations were done correctly.
- He spoke about the contractor status in the plant and to remind everyone to notify the Union to report contractors workign in the plant.
- Mike also spoke on mitigating strategies.
The next General Membership Meeting will be held on March 18th, 2026 at the Royal Canadian Legion at 7:30 pm.
