RE: General Membership Meeting Summary Report for  May 15th, 2024


The following notes represent my personal summary of the May General Membership Meeting and ARE NOT OFFICIAL MINUTES. They are for the express purpose of keeping the members informed in a timely fashion. Since minutes must be approved at a subsequent General Membership Meeting, any updates which would require the use of the actual minutes would result in updates being one-month old.

The following was approved at the May meeting:

  • Minutes of the April 17th, 2024 meeting 
  • The financial statement ending April 2024 and the disbursements of $283,275.71.   Our receipts were in excess of our disbursements by $4.630.44.  This resulted in our General Account being positive by $114,023.76.


MANNING REPORT AS OF  April 30th, 2024

No Report

   

The following motions were approved:

 

·      1) Motion – Approve a donation of $4000.00 to Shine Foundation

       2) Motion  -  Approve the following as a motion:

-  WHEREAS LOCAL 2251 has authorized the bringing of a lawsuit and injunction for the purpose of preventing the 

    derostering of members from the Group Health Centre ("GHC)

-  AND WHEREAS Michael Da Prat will be seeking the injunction as representative of the affected members of LOCAL

   2251

-  AND WHEREAS a rrequirement for obtaining the injunction is for Mr. Da Prat to undertake, pursuant to Rule 40.04 of

    the Rules of Civil Procedure, to abide by any order the Court may make with respect to damages resulting from the

    granting of the injunction.

-  It is resolved that LOCAL  2251 will fully indemnify Mr. Da Prat in respect of any order that the Court may make against

    him

     

             

President's Report


-   Mike spoke about the Inunction and lawsuit against the Group Health Centre


-   Discussion on TransWest and TransEast took place  (sale or joint venture)


-   Mike also spoke on the the 106" Plate Mill. 


-  Mike spoke about the Masonry decentralization


-  Mike also stated we are looking for 8 members for the golf tournament which will be held on August 11th, 2024 at Crimson


    Ridge.  If we receive more than 8 members that would like to play, we will draw names on August 1st, 2024.  You will be


    notified by Friday, August 1st, 2024.






The next General Membership Meeting will be held on  June 19th, 2024 at the Delta Hotel at 7:30 pm.
