RE: General Membership Meeting Summary Report for August 16th, 2023
The following notes represent my personal summary of the August General Membership Meeting and ARE NOT OFFICIAL MINUTES. They are for the express purpose of keeping the members informed in a timely fashion. Since minutes must be approved at a subsequent General Membership Meeting, any updates which would require the use of the actual minutes would result in updates being one-month old.
The following was approved at the August meeting:
- Minutes of the July 19th, 2023 meeting
- The financial statement ending July 2023 and the disbursements of $143,009.03. Our receipts were in excess of our disbursements by $40,628.20. This resulted in our General Account being positive by $118,959.60.

The following motions were approved:
· 1) Motion – Approve a donation of $1500.00 to support the Community Builders Awards. We would be sponsoring the Sports and
Recreation Award.
2) Motion - Approve $337.87 to support MADD Message Yearbook and put an ad in tis year's yearbook.
3) Motion - Approve $500.00 to support the Alzheimer Society Social with Purpose.
4) Motion - Approve $8960.60 plus HST to get an LG 18K Ductless Split air conditioner put into the server room due to the extreme
heat and potential for the server room to overheat.

President's Report
- Mike spoke about the settlement for contracting out.
- He reported that the COLA was rolled in August 1st, 2023 - $1.08
- He reported that the EAF Special Membership Meetings had been changed from July 27th, 2023 to August 30, 2023
- Mike spoke about the Health and Safety grievance. He stated that a Sep 2 was held and reminded the members management is
interpreting the provision of the manual and often times they are wrong. The members have to be very careful and not simply
accept direction. Consult the manual if you have any doubts.
- He also stated that we were getting a gat built to block off behind the ramp as it has become a safety issue.
- The Board of Stewards and General Membership Meetings will be held at the Marconi Hall for September and October and then
back to the Delta for the foreseeable future.
The next General Membership Meeting will be held on September 20th, 2023, at the Marconi Hall at 7:30 pm.
